MuzicNotez: First off, it’s an honor to be doing this interview with you, thanks for taking the time to sit down with us.
Introduce yourselves, what are your names and roles in the band?
Moscato: Currently the band is made up of 4 members, Kristen Finlay, Jo (Van) Stralen, Adrian & Kevin Shaw. Kaz – vocal for ‘Devil Woman’, Pop – Electric Guitar, Jay Laka – Percussion, (Kaz) also performed cello & keys.
MuzicNotez: How did you meet and form up? How long have you been together?
Moscato: We have been together almost 12 years but only recording and release for the past 4 years.
MuzicNotez: How did you come up with the name Moscato?
Moscato: Moscato is a nice sweet wine and while thinking of a name for ourselves, a bottle made into a candle stood out, and there we agreed it’s a sweet taste for sweet soulful sounds.
MuzicNotez: Who were your musical influences, idols, or bands growing up that have helped mold you into the band you are today? Or helped mold the music that you create?
Moscato: We have all come from different corners and have grown with many different influences upon us all, but we have a good few we all like as: Jewel, Pink Floyd, Janis Joplin, Metallica, also some country and a lot of blues.
MuzicNotez: You just won the MuzicNotez Battles, proving you have an incredible fan base! How much do your fans inspire the music you create?
Moscato: Our fans are amazing and very inspiring, we love creating and recording, and appreciate the fact that our music is enjoyed.
We receive many uplifting emails and messages and were delighted to share our music.
MuzicNotez: What’s the ultimate goal you want your music to achieve, or for you to achieve in your career as a musician? Any particular message you wish to send?
Moscato: We didn’t set out with any particular goal other than to raise funds for autoimmune disorder with an album “Broken Silence”, and from then on, we got hooked on studios and playing our heart strings for the world to enjoy. But if we could wish for anything, the movie industry looks good for songs or commercial.
MuzicNotez: You recently released your new EP ‘Adrift’, what does this release mean for the band?
Moscato: Adrift has so far been very well accepted by fans and media, we brought some new sands to the surface and for recording the album but only recording and (releasing) for the past 4 years, with them Kaz – vocal for ‘Devil Woman’, Pop – Electric Guitar, Jay Laka – Percussion, K92 also performed cello & keys.
MuzicNotez: What’s your bands’ writing process like?
Moscato: Writing is strong at the moment with Jo writing lyrics and melodys, and Adrian composing on a telepathic connection, creating magic, giving Moscato more feeling than ever.
MuzicNotez: What else are you working on? What can we expect to see and hear from you in the future?
Moscato: We do have some projects in the works and hope to raise some new tunes in the near future, bringing more new sounds, and keys though not losing the grunt and the powerful guitars, same cool songs we hope you enjoy.
