Out of Kent, UK band The John Doe Trio announce new blues album ‘JDIII’. The new album is set to release in January of 2025. Also, the band also announced a new lineup along with the album. The trio has been together since 2013 and released 2 albums together. Now, the new lineup will include original front man Phil Woollett, along with his son Ben Woollett and Paul Townsend.
The pandemic effected the music industry greatly, The John Doe Trio felt this as well. They were effected by the effects of the pandemic and nearly broke apart due to mental health issues as a result of it all. With this experience, mental health will be a subject that fuels some of the new music in the coming album. Phil also endured a mental health collapse after the devastating sudden loss of his young son. So this is a topic he knows all too well. Music is a great therapy for mental issues though, especially through blues rock, we’re sure the music can help others moving forward.
The upcoming John Doe Trio album ‘JDIII’ looks to be one of the best releases yet. Phil describes it as, “a no-holds barred adventure, taking all the best features from the previous two albums and then pushing our creative boundaries to new heights”. We can’t wait to hear it, and the wait is almost over. Be sure to follow them on their socials and streaming platforms to be informed of the new release when it comes out!
