Interview with Composer Melvin Fromm Jr

MuzicNotez: First off, it’s an honor to be doing this interview with you, thanks for taking the time to sit down with us. What motivated you to start creating music? What age did you begin?

Melvin Fromm Jr: Thank you MuzicNotez for doing an interview with me I really appreciate it. What motivated me to start creating music was my feelings for my then girlfriend as I was writing my feelings in a letter to her and thought wow this sounds like a love song. So I found some music guys help take the words from the letter and made it into a song as I guess my girlfriend really like it as she is my wife of 23 years now. You can hear more about this in a podcast that was done on me and my music that hit “Indie Talk Podcast” #1 podcast of All-Time in 2023. On Melvin’s Indie Talk podcast, you will learn how Melvin was a karate expert to songwriter. Who got Melvin into songwriting and who got Melvin’s music into so much radio airplay worldwide. Who were your musical influences, idols, or bands growing up that have helped mold you into the musician you are today? Or helped mold the music that you create?

Melvin Fromm Jr: My mom Wilma [Still blessed to have her at 88 years young and in good health] liked to listen to pop music and my dad Melvin [who past away in 2000] liked to listen to country music in the 70’s and 80’s growing up so this is the reason I think I like all kinds of music today.

What’s the ultimate goal you want your music to achieve, or for you to achieve in your career as a musician? Any particular message you wish to send?

Melvin Fromm Jr: Well with the grace of God my music has reached a lot of goals to date like: Depositphotos who has been marketing my music in email promotion to over 40 million customers weekly worldwide as my music is the only one picked for this kind of promotion. My music doing very well on Uk radio station Phoenix FM with many songs on “Rising Stars” as the podcast shows seem to always have thousands of views and 2 “Artist Feature” on UK radio station websites as 1 “Artist Feature” has over 3 million views to date. My song “Blessed For Success”, was featured on the 300th episode of ‘Rising Stars’ on Phoenix FM, January 7, 2024. Rising Stars” show #301 Jan. 14, 2024 gave me a special shout out on there podcast website that has been viewed more then 400k times and growing to date and by far the most popular “Rising Stars” radio podcast show ever as link @ https://www.phoenixfm.com/2024/01/14/rising-stars-show-301/

My song “True Love” that has been said it has a great hook in the song and was specifically worked on was picked for a special Valentine love song podcast “All You Need Is Love” and went live Feb. 3 2024. What’s the greatest concert you’ve ever been to or performed?

Melvin Fromm Jr: For me the greatest concert I have seen many times with my wife is “Joel Osteens Night Of Hope” with Lakewood Church music because I have a lot to thank God about and I try to always surround myself with positive in life and the goodness of God. One of Lakewood’s guitarist worked with major music people before going to Lakewood Church and doing music and last time Lakewood Church was in my city my wife bought music cd of Lakewood Church music and when I heard that guitarist that worked with major people before I felt it was God saying to me ‘Yes Melvin with me your music is starting to shine”. I like to take time to always praise the goodness of God in all things in my life as it keeps me grounded and working hard.

You have been working with some Grammy winning engineers to make new music, what can you tell us about that?

Melvin Fromm Jr: With the grace of God my music has had worldwide airplay in about 190 countries to date, a lot of write ups about me and my music in 2023, hit #1 on some indie radio charts for the first time ever in 2023 and I got an email from a great team of Grammy winning engineers that have worked with countless music legends and they sent me a new song the way I had it done and there version of my song and wow my ears were blown away I could not believe it was the same song. The Grammy winning engineers wanted to work with me on my new music starting in 2024 as they loved how my music was kind of different and many styles of music. They have been nothing but great to work with so down to earth and showing me a lot as the feedback on the music has been nothing but amazing. I am very thankful for them wanting to work with me and my music.

You have quite a few new songs, the latest being ‘Broken Winter Suite Case Life’. What inspired this track? What’s it about?

Melvin Fromm Jr: Yes I am releasing new music daily to all major streaming sites and a major indie music catalog in California that has major ties to film, Tv, and much more as the new music has jumped to over 1700% increase of views in the music catalog each of the 3 months so far in 2024. ‘Broken Winter Suite Case Life’ is an pop instrumental song with lead acoustic guitar as I try to make different sounding music to be used in all kind of projects as I always have people reaching out to wanting to look at my music for radio airplay or to see if they can use it in any way as I so thankful for that.

You’re not just an artist, you’re also a composer. What do you think makes you a composer specifically?

Melvin Fromm Jr: Well for me I put together all the instruments to make a different sounding song and come up with the sheet music for the song and then go before a great Grammy winning music team and see what they think as we do the music my way if it’s not right or need changes I always try the input on what could be needed to make the song the best it could sound. I love the way this works out as everyone is ground and works toward doing the best we can on every song is the real focus for all of us.

What else are you working on? What can we expect to see and hear from you in the future?

Melvin Fromm Jr: I have a lot of new instrumental music coming out daily on major streaming sites of all styles of music I think it’s up to the end of June 2024 with more ready to go. Also a lot of the music is going into the major indie music catalog in California. I also have a lot of radio staions wanting my music worldwide so I’m working on that as well.

Melvin Fromm Jr: I just want to give a heartfelt thank you to everyone who got me into music, for all those helping me along the way in my muisc, from all the radio stations worldwide to all the blogs and more. For all the love & support of the music worldwide from the fans. You all truly me a lot to me and I have a deep love for all of you as I could not be here without you & the grace of God.
