MuzicNotez: What motivated you to start creating music? What age did you begin?

David Winter: I discovered my passion for creating music as a young teenager. I loved the camaraderie of collaborating on new music with other people and the buzz from the vibe we created.

MuzicNotez: Who were your musical influences, idols, or bands growing up that have helped mold you into the musician you are today? Or helped mold the music that you create?

David Winter: Andy Summers of The Police and Mark Knopfler from Dire Straits were my greatest influences as a guitarist. I loved the fabulous licks and leads they created. And I loved the new wave punk, reggae, ska and jazz funk bands that were creating the hits of the late 70s and early 80s.

MuzicNotez: What’s the ultimate goal you want your music to achieve, or for you to achieve in your career as a musician? Any particular message you wish to send?

David Winter: When I discovered that God was real and we could know and experience Him through sung worship, I felt like I’d found my musical destiny. I’ve primarily written worship songs since then and am absolutely delighted when others enjoy singing and playing them to draw close to God.

MuzicNotez: What’s the latest release of yours? Tell us about it.

David Winter: My latest release, I am Yours, is a gentle, jazz ballad. It’s about the kindness and faithfulness of God’s love to which we can completely dedicate ourselves without any regret. It’s played on a hand made jazz guitar which my wonderful wife gave to me. I love its dulcet, mellifluous tones.
