MuzicNotez: First off, it’s an honor to be doing this interview with you, thanks for taking the time to sit down with us.
The new single you’re pushing now is off your last album ‘California Loves You’ and it’s called ‘Willin’. What’s this song about to you?
- California: It’s about knowing the woman you’ve “found” could be the one, and she, telling you that she is “willing” if you are.
MuzicNotez: What was the production process like for this song? Who was all on it?
- California: It features Les Fradkin on Lead and Background Vocals, Electric Bouzouki, Electric 12 String Guitars, 12 String Bass and Mellotron Cello. Loretta Pieper Fradkin on Lead & Background Vocals and Mike Brown on Harpsichord. It was easy to record and produce.

MuzicNotez: What do you think makes this song stand out from other releases? How’s it different?
- California: The song is in 5/4 and 3/4 meter. That’s a bit unusual for a Single but it seems to “swing” seamlessly. You can hear 5/4 meter occasionally in some Jazz but it’s not very common in rock. The Byrds “Get To You” from “The Notorious Byrd Bros” is one example. But as far as being heard in Baroque Pop Music, nearly novel.
MuzicNotez: Will you be making a music video for this track? How do you decide which singles get videos?
- California: The “Willin” video is already available on YouTube: We decide when we have the phots which might match up with a concept with our traveling.
MuzicNotez: When you’re not making music together, what do you do for fun in your free time?
- California: We travel extensively.
MuzicNotez: Do you sing together every day?
- California: When we’re driving, we often sing together with Moody Blues or Beach Boys records.
MuzicNotez: What else are you working on? What can we expect to see and hear from you in the future?
- California: As usual, we are waiting for the future to present itself.
