Interview with Pharoah Lotto
MuzicNotez: First off, it’s an honor to be doing this interview with you, thanks for taking the time to sit down with us.
What motivated you to start creating music? What age did you begin?
- Pharoah Lotto: Creating music I was about 16. Taking it serious and actually noticing my worth I was about 22.
MuzicNotez: Who were your musical influences, idols, or bands growing up that have helped mold you into the musician you are today? Or helped mold the music that you create?
- Pharoah Lotto: Far as people I looked up to was Artist like Lil Wayne, Andre 3000, & Kid Cudi. They cared nothing about what people thought is what I was into about em. Not the rap content but their consistency year after year. I payed attention to that.
MuzicNotez: What’s the ultimate goal you want your music to achieve, or for you to achieve in your career as a musician? Any particular message you wish to send?
- Pharoah Lotto: I wanna be the greatest. The biggest inspiration and influence to people. I want my name in big lights in Africa at my shows.
MuzicNotez: What’s the greatest concert you’ve ever been to or performed?
- Pharoah Lotto: I’ve opened up for many legends such as E-40, Too Short, Mack 10 but my favorite concert I would say was when I opened up for Nipsey Hussle. He heard it gave me some strategic feedback and let me know the song I performed was a hit.
MuzicNotez: Your latest release is the music video for ‘Big Flexer’, what was it like making this video?
- Pharoah Lotto: It was a great experience, we had a great time. We went crazy in LA, I brought out the Bentley, and rented a studio out. It was storming but we kept the show going.
MuzicNotez: ‘Big Flexer’ also features The Game, what was it like working with him?
- Pharoah Lotto: It was dope working with Game. He’s very on point and on time with everything. Everyone has a different story. But me and Game locked in that’s big bro, We still talk all the time.
MuzicNotez: You’re doing real well as an independent rap artist, what advice would you give to other rappers just starting out to find the success you’re having?
- Pharoah Lotto: I would tell them consistency is key, budgeting & marketing will get you way further than your talent can alone, & always remember this isn’t like the 90’s you have to be somewhat of a social media guru. Keep your visuals up the people love to see you!
MuzicNotez: What else are you working on? What can we expect to see and hear from you in the future?
- Pharoah Lotto: You can def expect to see more celebrity features in the future. More features period tho. This my year to branch out networking is very important so I’m going to be doing a whole lot of that. I got some party slaps coming for this summer they gone be crazy so be on the lookout! Then around September I’ll be releasing some slow James for the cuddle weather.
MuzicNotez: Anything else you wish to say about yourself or your music? Any message for your fans?
- Pharoah Lotto: All I can say is remember the name.Start paying attention we gone straight for it, no brakes. I can’t be one of those “I use to make music” rappers. I got more than what it takes, me & the team gone apply it all & watch it unfold. I’m just scratching the surface we going global!
