MuzicNotez: First off, it’s an honor to be doing this interview with you, thanks for taking the time to sit down with us.
What motivated you to start creating music? What age did you begin?
- Ashley Puckett: Thank you! I’ve been singing for what I say all my life. I sang my first song around age five and from there, it was just a continued passion that I pursued.
MuzicNotez: Who were your musical influences, idols, or bands growing up that have helped mold you into the musician you are today? Or helped mold the music that you create?
- Ashley Puckett: I’ve been blessed to write and record and/or share the stage with some unbelievably amazing humans and artists. All of whom have inspired me in some way and helped to shape my musical sound and voice. Randy Bachman (BTO), Johnny Cash, June Carter, Andrew Gold, Mark Slaughter, Steve Balsamo, and of course, my beautiful husband and brilliant songwriter, Tommy Parham.
MuzicNotez: What’s the ultimate goal you want your music to achieve, or for you to achieve in your career as a musician? Any particular message you wish to send?
- Ashley Puckett: I want to be able to share my music with as many people as possible.
I know what music does for me during good times and bad, and the fact that i was given a gift like this to create something that can touch so many people in so many ways, i just want to be able to do it for me and them. I would also one day love to win a Grammy, which is one of my ultimate goals.
MuzicNotez: What’s the latest release of yours? Tell us about it.
- Ashley Puckett: “What’s Her Name?” is my latest release. It’s a very Country Cheatin’
song. haha. It;s alot of fun to perform, and was a fun, edgy song to record in the studio, too. You get to see a different side of my normal romantic, sweet style and get a little more sass.
