Across The Board is a Canadian-based and female-fronted band that jams out an infusion of pop, rock, and Americana. Living out their dreams in Toronto, ATB is an award-winning band formed by four multi-instrumentalist musicians — Jacqueline Auguste (vocals, keys, strings), Paul Nanuwa (percussion, vocals), Damien Atapattu (guitar, vocals), and Andy Ramjattan (bass guitar).
Their recently debuted single ‘Don’t Drag Me Down’ — off of their upcoming EP ‘Amends’ — is more than a tune, it’s a statement. Released on International Women’s Day (March 8th), the title of the song pretty much says it all. Using their music as a platform, the lyrics voice a proclamation to stand tall and challenge the outdated principles and ongoing societal-disenfranchisement — they’re pointing at you Big Brother.
Accompanied by a lyric-video, press play and you’ll hear that the composition and vocals have playful pop/rock tones as if they’re secretly saying, “na-na-na-na boo-boo, we will overcome.” Combined with the lyrics, you can sense the confidence in their vision. Check it out below!
