It’s always inspiring when you come across a band that creates totally unique and original music. The music scene has changed so much over the years with the influx of technology being used. But Birds Over Arkansas have totally mastered the craft of songwriting, and have a really beautiful way of bringing their songs to life. The instrumentation and harmonies blend together so perfectly to create real music. On top of this, Birds Over Arkansas’s music is a blend of Americana and Prog rock, which is unique in its own right.
The newest release by Birds Over Arkansas is the track ‘So Much Sky’. It’s not too often that you have a song inspired by the scientist Reinhold Rudenberg… but this one was. He is the scientist and inventor who created the electron microscope. He did this in hopes to find a cure for polio, of which his 3 year old song had. The intro to the song is one of the most unique I’ve heard, it’s actually the sound of individual atoms moving around, that has to be a first.
The lead singer Scott Haskitt describes So Much Sky as being about “human progress; the hardships and perspectives that inspire us to solve problems, and the personal sacrifices that are often necessary in order to achieve something”.
