Acapella group release new album #LoveInEvolution on January 22nd
Sweet Honey in the Rock are a Grammy nominated all female Acapella group that have been creating music with historical connotations since 1973. They blend various genres including jazz, blues, soul, gospel and African chants to create their completely original sound. After some change over in vocalists throughout the years, the group currently includes 4 singers named Louise Robinson, Carol Maillard (both founding members), Nitanju Bolade Casel and Aisha Kahlil. In addition to the singers Shirley Childress has been working with the group since 1981 as an American Sign Language interpreter.

Music has often been used as a way to bring people together, and to add an unforgettable soundtrack to life changing events throughout history. Sweet Honey in the Rock has embraced that and has now released their 24th studio album entitled #LoveinEvolution.
Their second single off the new album ‘Second Line Blues’, has been released along with the gripping music video. This track calls attention to the controversial fallen victims that have increased racial tension and brought more attention to civil rights. The song is a tribute to these victims, as their names are roll called out in the video, unfortunately as more fall, their names are added on. Hopefully peaceful and meaningful art such as this can help aid in a change to the point no more names need to be added to the song.
Catch the group on their cross country American tour. View their website for details to find a show near you.
