Maurice Smith was born in New York City and started rapping at the age of 16 already. Now he’s living in Florida and has been releasing some amazing new music. Maurice isn’t just another rapper he’s a poet with a variety of superior skills including singing, producing and songwriting. His timing is perfect, lyrics are powerful and his hooks are incredibly catchy. All of his music has a positive uplifting undertone beneath his tales of real life problems. Maurice combination of rap with smooth R&B hooks is definitely a winning combination and sure to catch on like wild fire. Some of his influences are Kendrick Lamar, Lupe Fiasco and Kid Cudi, plus a diverse background of Southern, and East coast rap/R&B styles. He combines that with his love of classical music from the 70’s and Jazz for a truly unique sound that’s hard to resist.
His latest release is entitled ‘Where Did The Music Go’. This track has a powerful message about the music industry today. Maurice finally says a lot of the things we’ve all been thinking. But it’s not just what he says, but the way he says it in a really great song from front to back showcasing his skills in every phase of the song. This song is a real anthem and something we can definitely get behind.
