With the EP out on March 9th and an album of the same name to follow, Lucy May has a lot riding on new track ‘Whirlwind’. Thankfully, it’s a country-pop track that delivers.
A ready made crowd pleaser, it’s the kind of track which has the polish to work as a studio recording, but has enough layers that you can well imagine it playing well to a live crowd too.
2015 is set to be a big year for rising star Lucy May, starting in the next couple of months with the EP and album and set to continue well into the summer and beyond. Having already turned heads at Radio 2 with a previous track, she’ll be hoping to repeat that trick again as well as picking up play elsewhere too.
The track itself is a slow burn, with a hell of a payoff once you can listen a few times and let it under your skin. Lyrically smart and musically clean, it’s really well put together and bodes well for the rest of the music we’ll be hearing over the next few weeks and months.
If this is a reflection of what Lucy May is all about, I want to hear more. The most popular MuzicNotez Magazine posts each week are awarded as our “Pick Of The Week“. Help this feature win by sharing it around.
