Having spent most of his life performing whether it was on the streets of the UK or at major Vintage events , Si Cranstoun has now started to become recognised in the broader music market having signed to Warner Music UK’s East/ West imprint at the start of the year. His first release ‘Caught in the Moonlight’ became one of the most played songs on radio for the period that it was released, gaining Radio 2 A List status along the way. Si has been featured in The Sun’s Fabulous Magazine, Music Week, Very Magazine, Hot Press and is also currently on the front cover of Echoes Magazine and UK Rock & Roll.
Now the singer-songwriter, and king of the vintage scene will follow his Radio 2 A-listed single ‘Caught in the Moonlight’ with another incredibly catchy tracks from his debut album ‘Modern Life’ which is out now, entitled ‘Dance For Evermore’. He will follow the album’s release by playing a special headline show at London’s Borderline on October 14th. Tickets are available here: http://gigst.rs/SiCran.
Si Cranstoun possesses a vocal talent that has been compared to the likes of Jackie Wilson and Sam Cooke, while his music offers an uplifting blend of northern soul, Motown and vintage pop. Brilliantly capturing the look and feel of soul’s golden era, Si Cranstoun exudes of all the energy and verve you would expect from the best of the genre. Chris Evans recently described him as combining “A squeeze of The Bee Gees, a bit of Billy Joel, a dash of Dean Freidman, and a ripple of Rodriguez.”
A classy throwback to the classic sound of the early sixties, ‘Caught in the Moonlight’ success at Radio 2 was an astonishing achievement from an artist who had never previously released a song on a major label. Cranstoun wrote the song with the legendary Tony Macaulay of The Foundations ‘Build Me Up Buttercup’ fame. So far, Cranstoun has earned radio support from Radio 2, Magic and BBC London, and has been featured in the Daily Mail and the Daily Star, as well as appearing on BBC London News TV.
As the release of his debut album approaches, he will also be performing a number of live gigs in the UK and Europe to celebrate the upcoming album release including Lounge on the Farm, The Bluesfest at The Royal Albert Hall and the massive London event Proms in the Park for Radio 2.
