Brooklyn based composer/artist, Conrad Clifton creates a unique brand of electronic music – not easily compared to other producers, but very infectious. An artist in every since of the word. He started singing, rapping and playing piano at a very young age, then out of a necessity for original music, he began creating his own. As an actor, he’s done stage plays, films, documentaries, TV commercials, as well as modeling campaigns. However, music production has always been the main focus. After winning multiple head-to-head producer competitions, he gained the opportunity to work with Grammy winning producers Tricky Stewart, Bryan- Michael Cox, and Jazze Pha. He later went on to work with artists like Missy Elliot, Rick Ross, The-Dream, Big Sean, Yelawolf, Asher Roth, Jazmine Sullivan, Chilli (of TLC), and many more.
After relocating to New York City, DJing was a natural progression for him. It was the nightclub gigs, corporate events, and house parties that taught him how to “read the crowd” – how to know what people want, musically, and how they want to feel at any given time. Imperative for a performer. He translated this knowledge and love of all things “musically abstract”, into the innovative original compositions he currently releases. Similar artist include Hudson Mohawke, Tokimonsta, Machinedrum, XXYYXX, and Ta-Ku.
His latest release “Picture in Picture”, is an alternative and progressive instrumental project, with influences that range from Hip-Hop & Electronica, to Bass, Trap & UK Garage. Available now at Bandcamp & iTunes.
