Interview with Pop Rock Artist Les Fradkin on New Single ‘Remote Control’ & More
MuzicNotez: Great talking with you again! Since we last talked, you reissued an EP from a band you were in in the 70’s called The Yummies. How would you describe the EP?
Les Fradkin: It consists of a reissue / remastering of the original single of “Patty Cake” and “Hippie Lady” along with two previously Unreleased tracks.
What was your time with The Yummies like? Still in contact with other members from the band?
Les Fradkin: Two of the other “members”, Eddie Deane and Steve Katz (the engineer, not the Blood Sweat & Tears Steve Katz) have passed away. Bob Morgan, I am in touch with and he’s retired.

After all this time, what motivated the reissue of The Yummies music? How has it been received?
Les Fradkin: I thought it was time to make it available as an official release. And I wanted folks to hear the two Unreleased tracks. It has been received very well. Made #1 in NY, #3 in Australia and #4 in the UK.
Also, your group California, with your wife, recently released the ‘California Loves You’ album. What can you tell us about this?
Les Fradkin: We released that album in 2023. It has 12 tracks, some old songs reworked, some old tracks released for the first time, and some new ones such as “Island “and “We Still Love You”. It has several Internet hits on it including “Perfect World” and “Willin’”.
What can we expect to hear next with California?
Les Fradkin: California’s latest single release is “Come Fly To Fall In Love” It’s featured on Spotify, Amazon, iTunes and YouTube.
Any more old band reissues you’re considering?
Les Fradkin: We have been looking at a number of things for possible release. Time will tell.
What else are you working on? What can we expect to see and hear from you in the future?
Les Fradkin: My new solo single release, is “Remote Control” which hails from my 2021 EP “Mirror Image”. It’s a very telling and important song for the contemporary world.
