MuzicNotez: First off, it’s an honor to be doing this interview with you, thanks for taking the time to sit down with us.
What motivated you to start creating music? What age did you begin?
- RTR Draco: Music was always something I enjoyed as I kid I use to write songs and plan out all my album covers on this yellow composition book I had. It wasn’t until I was around 18 that I started to take it seriously I recorded a song and showed one of my friends and he was like “bro you needa drop this” of course I was hesitant at first, but eventually I dropped it and ever since then I just been trying to stamp my name in the game as an Artist.

MuzicNotez: Who were your musical influences, idols, or bands growing up that have helped mold you into the musician you are today? Or helped mold the music that you create?
- RTR Draco: Growing up I had a wide variety of music, but mainly it was Artists like Lil Wayne. His punchlines and metaphors were just crazy to me. Today i listen to a lot more melodic artists like Polo G, Scorey, Lil Tjay, Rod wave, I like real music.
MuzicNotez: What’s the ultimate goal you want your music to achieve, or for you to achieve in your career as a musician? Any particular message you wish to send?
- RTR Draco: I just want my people to be straight at the end of the day. When I first started getting a little money from music I kinda got blinded and lost sight of the goal which is to do for others and take my loved ones out of Palestine. I just pray for success.
MuzicNotez: What’s the greatest concert you’ve ever been to or performed?
- RTR Draco: I haven’t did a concert yet, got a lot of offers though. I let my insecurities get the best of me with that. I plan to book one soon though.
MuzicNotez: Your real name is Jordan Durham, but you go by the artist name RTR Draco, how’d you come up with your artist name?
- RTR Draco: The RTR (Rags to Riches) part was inspired by an artist I was real big on at the time named BTR (Broke to Rich) Chris, I liked the meaning behind it so I just took it and it kinda stuck. I went through a lot of other names like RTR Kid, RTR Terrell, and Draco just sounded the best to me.
MuzicNotez: Your latest release that you’re pushing now is the single ‘Confetti Falling’, what inspired this release?
- RTR Draco: That song really just came to me. When I heard the beat I knew I had to do a celebration type song it just spoke to me. I wanted people to really feel like they can do anything when listening to this record cause in all actuality you can. I wanted it to really put that image of success in your mind. That’s probably my favorite song I’ve done I probably listened to it about 20 times before I actually dropped it.
MuzicNotez: What’s your writing style like? How do you generally produce a new song?
- RTR Draco: I play a couple beats and if I’m really feeling one I’ll probably lock in for about 2 hours and just write, erase, write some more probably erase some more once it’s done it probably take me like 30 minutes to record it. Most of the time though when a beat really speaking to me I just go to the car and punch in. It takes a little longer but that’s usually what I do.
MuzicNotez: What else are you working on? What can we expect to see and hear from you in the future?
- RTR Draco: I’m working on a project that I tryna push out by the end of the year. I’m going for more of a championship vibe on this one. Similar to Confetti Falling.
MuzicNotez: Anything else you wish to say about yourself or your music? Any message for your fans?
- RTR Draco: Whatever you wanna do in life, just pray and go do it.
