- MuzicNotez: First off, it’s an honor to be doing this interview with you Hope, thanks for taking the time to sit down with us.
What motivated you to start creating music? What age did you begin?- Hope: Thank you for having me it is an honor to be recognized by you guys. What motivated me was the feeling I get when I perform on stage there is nothing like it and once I saw how serious others took it, it inspired me to take it full force as well. I started taking dance lessons at 5 then singing at 8 and rapping at 13 but really got involved with performing at 15 and have been consistent ever since.
- MuzicNotez: Who were your musical influences, idols, or bands growing up that have helped mold you into the musician you are today? Or helped mold the music that you create?
- Hope: I have a ton of influences and I look at different artists for different reasons and listen to all genres. Some artist I am inspired by their look others I look at for performances others for vocals and so on. Growing up I listened to a lot of people but I loved Destinys Child and Beyonce so that was really my main influence.
- MuzicNotez: What’s the ultimate goal you want your music to achieve, or for you to achieve in your career as a musician? Any particular message you wish to send?
- Hope: My ultimate goal especially right now is to go on tour and visit new places. I want my music to achieve awards and chart. The message I want to send is that you can still be positive with your lyrics and have fun. I don’t want to be about drugs and negativity I want to speak about how to overcome obstacles without all of those things. Find something you love and throw yourself into that to take your mind off of things.
- MuzicNotez: What’s the greatest concert you’ve ever been to or performed?
- Hope: The greatest concert I’ve ever been to was most recently The Weeknd at T-Mobile Arena. I haven’t been to a big concert like that since I was a child so it was amazing to experience that. It’s always hard to pick the greatest concert I have performed because there has been a lot over the years but if I had to pick I would say the JaHMa Presents Feel The Heat Showcase I was very involved with that one.
- MuzicNotez: You just won the MuzicNotez Battles competition! How does it feel to see your fans and other music lovers support you so much?
- Hope: Yes! It was a very close battle and I know everyone I was up against are great artists. It feels amazing to know that I have that many people that believe in me and want to see me go somewhere especially in an industry where that doesn’t happen a lot. I just feel honored that they chose me because there are so many talented people that we all should be behind and to know that I’m one of them it makes me emotional.
- MuzicNotez: Your winning track is entitled ‘I Was Wrong’, what’s the inspiration behind this track?
- Hope: I Was Wrong is very personal to me I wrote this entire song and I really hope everyone can listen to the lyrics on this one because it came from the heart. It is also kind of a debut of me singing. Sometimes on songs I just sing the hooks and rap the verses but this time I felt I should sing the whole song. The inspiration was a relationship where you feel you were wrong to let a person in your life and you won’t make that mistake of letting them back in again. At the end of the day everyone comes into your life for a reason but the reality of it is we all have regrets sometimes we can’t always help it.
- MuzicNotez: You’re a native to Las Vegas, the entertainment capitol of the world. What’s it like for an independent artist rising in the ranks in a city so filled with talent like that?
- Hope: Being an independent artist here is difficult because a lot of people don’t know that there is an independent scene out here. Often times we don’t get recognized. We know it and all know each other for the most part but it is a struggle to let other people know that we are here. Also when I first started there wasn’t a lot of performance opportunities or really any opportunities in general. Now a lot of people are stepping up and creating things for us and a lot of us are creating things on our own. There are a lot of people working hard to let it be known that we are here.
- MuzicNotez: What else are you working on? What can we expect to see and hear from you in the future?
- Hope: I can’t talk about too much right now but I am working on a new show set for 2018 and of course I’m in the studio still recording new music as it comes to me and as people contact me wanting to work. You can expect new songs and visuals from me as well. I can’t wait for you all to see what’s to come!
- MuzicNotez: Anything else you wish to say about yourself or your music? Any message for your fans?
- Hope: All I can say is if you don’t know me please follow me on all social media everything is @Hopemusic30 and please keep supporting my journey and movement I appreciate it greatly you all have no idea. I can’t do this without you. Thank you MuzicNotez for this opportunity I just want to be heard. Stay blessed!
